Breaking: Bandits free Niger district head, wives, Islamiyya school student escape

The District Head of Zungeru in the Wushishi local government of Niger state, Alhaji  Alamu Mustapha Madaki, kidnapped along with his two wives in his palace about 23 days ago has regained freedom from abductors.  Blueprint gathered that the royal father was released by his abductors on Sunday June 27, 2021 at night but got to his palace in Zungeru town on Monday. A source said a ransom of N10 million was paid in addition to two bajaj motorcycles before the royal  father was released along with his two wives Habiba and Aisha. The source who pleaded anonymity said, “The relations of the now free district head must have paid the N10 million ransom demanded by the bandits before he was released”. It was learnt that Alhaji Madaki has been taken to a private hospital in Abuja for medical treatment. In another development, one of the abducted students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya school in Tegina escaped from her captives on Monday. 

The abductee identified as Zaynab Salle Boka according to the source escaped to Pandogari town where she was seen by an Okada rider to the village head of Allawa Mallam Umaru. Mallam Umaru handed over the girl to the Chairman of Rafi local government area Alhaji Ismaila Modibo. “Zaynab is undergoing medical treatment and profiling before she will be handed over to her parents,” the source said. Fifteen of the adults abducted from the school had escaped from their captives and reunited with their families.
