Breaking: Bauchi Deputy Governor Resigns

Bauchi State Deputy Governor Engr Nuhu Gidado Wednesday resigned his position.
Our Correspondent reports that the deputy governor had been out of the country for the past couple of weeks for medical check up and was also billed to return to the State this week.
It would be recalled that several members of the Bauchi State executive council that included the commissioner of planning Shehu Barau Ningi, Special Adviser on Investment, Senior Special Assistant on scheduling had resigned from the cabinet alleging marginalization by the Governor Mohammed Abubakar.
Blueprint also reports that recently another Special Adviser on political matters to the governor  Sani Shehu (Sanin Malam) also abdicated his portfolio.
A source close to the deputy governor said that there had been perpetual rift between Gidado and Abubakar and he had attempted severally to resign but was dissuaded by friends and political associates.
But when contacted the Special Assistant to the deputy governor on communication Yakubu Adamu confirmed the resignation of the deputy governor but  said he would not comment further on the matter until he was authorized by his boss.
