A suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday launched an
attacked on Geidam, the headquarters of Geidam local government council
in Yobe state.
Blueprint gathered that the gunmen came to attack the military base around 5.30pm.
Information on the attack is still sketchy as at time of filing-in
this report, but some Geidam residents Dauda Ali and Reuben Stephen
told our correspondent that, “there is a heavy gun battle between the
military and the insurgents, all of us are indoors”.
“Already we can see two fighter jets flying around the city providing
aerial support to the army, your prayer is needed please” they said.
The number of casualty is yet to be ascertained and no information yet
