Information reaching Blueprint has it that there was a serious panic around 5.00pm on Tuesday when some suspected Boko Haram members attempted to invade the red bricks housing estate along Maiduguri road, in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
As at time of filling this report, there was no information from the security agencies, but some residents of the area identified as Ali Audu and Musa Sarki, confirmed to Blueprint correspondent in Yobe that there were heavy sound of gunshots or explosions.
Our correspondent also sighted a fighter jet around the state capital around 5.30pm.
