Breaking: Buhari wins landslide in Yobe

President Muhammad Buhari has scored 85 per cent of the total votes
cast at the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly
Elections held on Saturday.

Announcing the results, the Returning Officer in Yobe Professor Abubukar
Musa Gundiri of the Federal University Wukari said the election was
conducted under a peaceful atmosphere.

Buhari who contested under All Progressives Congress (APC) platform scored 497,914 votes out of the total 586,137 votes cast, representing 85 percent, while Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 50,763 votes representing 8.6 per cent while the other political parties shared the remaining 6.4 percent.

The collation which commenced on Sunday at the state capital was witnessed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Commissioner of Police, other security agents, Election observers, party agents, among others.
