Breaking: Buhari writes Senate, wants Tanko confirmed as substantive CJN, approval for appointment of 15 SA’s

President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded to the Senate, request for confirmation of the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) , Justice Mohammed Tanko as substantive CJN. 

The President in another request, also sought approval for appointment of 15 Special Advisers .

In separate letters written and read on the floor of the Senate Thursday, by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, President Buhari said the requests were in line with constitutional provisions .

He specifically quoted section 153 of the 1999 constitution as amended, for approval of appointment of 15 Special Advisers.
