Breaking: Communications Minister sacks aides after being accused of corruption

The Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has approved the disengagement of two of his aides.

The affected aides are Special Assistant on Media Mr. Victor Oluwadamilare and Special Assistant on Special Duties, Sheik Imam Tajudeen.

Oluwadamilare had accused his boss of greed and wickedness. Mr. Olwuadamilare made the allegations in a letter to the minister. Dated 12 March and published by SaharaReporters.

The former spokesperson’s letter said Mr. Adebayo owes him the sum of N13million in emoluments from November 2015 to the end of March 2018. Despite Mr.  Shittu ’s refusal to pay, said Oluwadamilare, the minister has been living a lush life.

The aides were sacked in a statement Thursday by Deputy Director of Press, Henshaw Ogubike and made available to Blueprint.

“Consequently, anybody dealing with them on behalf of the  Minister and the Ministry of Communications is doing so at his or her own risk.

The duo “have been directed to hand over all Ministry’s properties in their possession.

The Minister however “thanked them for their services and wishes them well in their future endeavours,” the statement reads.
