Breaking: From Rivers, Super Falcons goalkeeper lands in France

Super Falcons sensational goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has reportedly signed an 18-month deal with French club Paris FC on a free transfer from Nigerian champions Rivers Angels.

Media reports say terms of the deal include a stipulation that a compensation fee be paid to Rivers United with Nnadozie expected to join the French Feminine Division One team in February after sorting out her documentation.

The transfer comes as no surprise with Nnadozie no stranger to French football fans.

The goalkeeper captivated French spectators with her performance in goal for Nigeria at the U20 Women’s World Cup and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

Her transfer echoes that of Super Eagles legend Austin JayJay Okocha who earned a then African record move to Paris Saint Germain following impressive performances for the national team at the 1998 World Cup held in France.

Nnadozie who is expected to make her debut when Paris FC host Stade De Reims on 22 February, will, however, hope she fares better than Okocha during her time in France.
