Breaking: G5 governors storm Ibadan for Makinde, may pick presidential candidate

As Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, seek re-election, the G5 governors of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also known as the Integrity Group, on Thursday January 5, 2023 stormed Ibadan for the campaign flag-off of the governor.

There are also insinuations that the governors might meet later to decide who they will support for 2023 presidential election.

The governors, Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), arrived the venue in company of Makinde.

Former governors Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo) and Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti) were also part of the entourage as they also wore the customised outfit as worn by the G5 governors.

Wike who is the leader of the group, while addressing the crowd said, “You all know that Seyi Makinde has done well since he came in 2019 and therefore the only way we can appreciate more and benefit more is for him to go back and complete the good work he has started.”

Wike urged the crowd to vote the PDP in the governorship election in the state, the various state House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats.

“The other one, Seyi will come to you,” he said of the G5 choice of presidential candidate.
