Gunmen early Monday morning December 12, 2022 invaded and bombed the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) located in Owerri, Imo state capital, leaving some parts of the premises and cars destroyed.
Blueprint correspondent gathered that the gunmen applied some explosive devices on the structure but details of the departments affected by the attack were not known as at the time of filing this report.
The INEC’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Dr. Chinenye Chijioke-Osuji has confirmed the incident but the Imo Police Command is yet to make a statement on it.
