Unknown gunmen on Saturday evening killed the Kogi state Pension Board Commissioner, Adebayo Solomon, while the council chairman of Yagba West local government area and some others were abducted.
Solomon was reportedly killed while returning from Ilorin, Kwara state capital to Kabba in Kogi state when his vehicle was said to have been shot at Eruku village, a few kilometers to Egbe, the border town between Kwara and Kogi state.
As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Pius Kolawole, who was with Chief Solomon when the incident happened is yet to be known.
The state police commissioner, Ayuba Ede, confirmed the incident and said intensive investigation was in progress to unravel the perpetrators of the heinous act.
