Breaking: Hard times for Nigerians as NNPC jerks up fuel price

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Wednesday May 31, 2023 announced revised prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel or petrol.

This was disclosed in a statement by the NNPC management.

The statement reads, “Please implement meter change as approved effective today 31st May 2023. Wayne is to attend to all locations as relates to their area of coverage in our network.”

The new price range, set between N488 and N555 per litre at its highest point, comes on the heels of President Bola Tinubu’s announcement regarding the termination of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.

Consequently, all petroleum marketers have been instructed to modify retail prices across different states in accordance with this decision.
