Breaking: Kompany exits Man City after 11 years

Vincent Kompany has decided to leave Manchester City after 11 years with the club.

Kompany won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups.

He has played in 360 games, scoring 20 goals – most recently a thunderous game-winner against Leicester in a crucial match for the title race.

The centre-back is yet to announce plans for his future.

In an open letter to the fans, Kompany wrote: “We’ve just seen the close of an incredible season. My 11th as a Blue.
“And I cannot believe I’m writing this but … also my last as a Blue.

“Countless of times have I imagined this day, after all, the end has felt nearby for so many years. It still doesn’t feel real.
“Man City has given me everything. I’ve tried to give back as much as I possibly could.
