Breaking: Lagos, NDDC officials in airport, set to receive Nigerians from UAE

Officials of Lagos State government, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), alongside others personnel from the Nigeria Immigration Service and associated bodies are waiting to receive Nigerians aboard Emirates Airline.

No fewer than 265 Nigerians are currently airborne from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The flight is expected to touch down the International wing of the Murtala Muhammad Airport in Lagos by 3pm, Nigerian time.

However, Blueprint correspondent reliably gathered that the evacuees would not be allowed to enter the airport terminal building as they will be conveyed to the isolation centres already prepared for them by officials of Lagos state government and the NCDC right from the apron.

On Tuesday, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs official disclosed that arrangements have been made with Emirates Airlines to bring back the Nigerians who have indicated their desire to return home.
