Breaking: Major defection looms in APC, as Tinubu, Atiku meet secretly

Former Vice President and one of the presidential aspirants of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Monday met secretly at the Akure airport to discuss plans ahead of 2019 general elections.

Blueprint reliably gathered from an official at the Akure airport that Atiku was actually on his way to Ekiti state on a working visit, but ran into Bola Tinubu, who was with some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) including Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu in preparation for the July Ekiti state governorship elections.

The dependable source said both Tinubu and Atiku quickly excussed themselves into a private meeting where no third party was allowed to be part of the discussion.

The source said: “I actually saw the two leaders having meeting at the airport but nobody was allowed to move close to them not to talk of know the content of their chat.”

On Atiku’s entourage was former Governor of Ogun state and Director General of the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; Capt. Yaya Abubakar and Adamu Abubakar.

For the leader of APC, apart from governor Akeredolu, one of the APC National Secretary’s aspirants, Kashim Imam and and the outgoing National Vice Chairman of APC, South-west Pius Akinyelure, were seen with Tinubu.

There have been reports that some aggrieved members of the ruling APC may soon defect to the PDP, believing that the former Vice President may have a major role to play ahead of the 2019 general elections.
