Breaking: Nasarawa lifts ban on worship centres

The Nasarawa state government Tuesday, announced the lifting on the ban on Mosques and Churches for a period of two weeks.

This was part of the resolutions arrived at during the stakeholders’ meeting at the government house Lafia, the state capital.

State Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Culture,  Comrade Dogo Shammah, said the review was part of measures put in place to combat further spread of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

Shammah gave the conditions for opening of Mosques and Churches in the state. 

He also said lifting of the ban would be reviewed at the end of the two weeks, based on compliance with the stipulated guidelines.

He said Imams and Clergies have been mandated to ensure strict compliance to regulations put in place to enable opening of worship centres.

He said they are to ensure that social distancing, the use of face masks and frequent washing of hands with sanitizers by all those attending either the mosques or churches.

Also, the commissioner said that tricycle are allowed to carry only two passengers for the period of two weeks.
