One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant Senator Dino Melaye for Kogi governorship election election is facing fresh trouble ahead of primiry after Kogi State National Assembly/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal declared his victory null and void as representing Kogi West Senatorial district.
Melaye (PDP) was declared winner in the February election by INEC, but Senator Smart Adeyemi (APC) approached the tribunal, challenging INEC’s declaration citing, irregularities, over voting and non compliance with the electoral acts.
In a unanimous judgement, the three-man panel led by Justice A. O. Chijioke a while ago on Friday accepted Adeyemi’s ground and order for fresh election for senatorial zone.
