Breaking: Nigeria deports 7 Koreans for life


The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said it has deported seven nationals of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) for life.

The reason for the deportation by the agency was not given.


In a state signed by the agency’s spokesman, Sunday James, Wednesday in Abuja, said the NIS Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede, carried out the deportation.


The affected Koreans includes; Jo Sun Phil, Jang Sung Chol, Che Chun Hyok, Pak Yong Gon, R I Yong Il and Ri Hak Su.


The statement said: “They were deported by the order of the Honourable Minister Of Interior based on the powers conferred on him by the Immigration Act 2015.


“They were deported to their country of origin on the available flight on the 15th October, 2019 through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.”
