Breaking: Ortom loses Senate bid as APC clears 10 out of 11 Reps seats

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has lost his bid to represent Benue North West Senatorial District.

The governor lost to his former adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congres (APC).

Zam scored a total of 143,151votes to defeat Ortom who got 106,882 votes with Mark Gbila of the Labour Party (LP) scoring 51950 votes.

Professor Rufus Shaato, the returning officer who announced the result declared Titus Zam winner of the Benue Senate seat, popularly refered to as Zone B.

At the time of this report, results of Benue North East, where Gabriel Suswam is contesting to return and Benue South where Abba Moro is contesting were yet to be announced.

However, fillers have it that Suswam may find it tough.

Meanwhile, APC has cleared 10 out of the 11 Federal House of Representatives seats in the state.

PDP has been occupying seven out of the 11 Federal House of Representatives places with other political parties including APC sharing the remaining.

However, in the results announced at the various constituencies, APC cleared 10 out of the total eleven federal Constituencies in the state leaving PDP with only one.

Those who won from the APC are Hon. Blessing Onu, Otukpo/Ohimini, Hon. David Ogewu Oju/Obi, Hon. Agbese Philip Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo, Chief Mrs Regina Akume, for Gboko/Tarka and Arc. Achado Asema for Gwer/Gwer-west.

Others are Hon. Sekav Iyortyom for Buruku,

Hon. Terseer Ugbor Kwande/Ushongo, Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo, Katsina -ala/ Ukum/Logo, Hon Dickson Tarkighir, Makurdi/Guma, and Hon Engr Sesoo Gboko Vandeikya/Konshisha, Constituencies, while Ojotu Ojeme of PDP won the House of Reps. seat for Apa/Agatu.
