Breaking: Pep set to dump Man City, heads to Juve

Pep Guardiola has agreed to join Juventus this summer, according to an Italian journalist.

It is claimed the Manchester City boss will leave the Etihad in order to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the Allianz Stadium.

Giornale reporter Luigi Guelpa believes Guardiola has been offered a four-year deal at the Old Lady.

Guelpa was the journalist who brole the news that Cristiano Ronaldo would leave Real Madrid for Juventus last year.

Speaking on Radio CRC, he said: “I’ve learned that Pep Guardiola already has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for the next four years.

“It’s the same person who told me that Ronaldo was going to Juventus.”

Guardiola is still on course to lead Manchester City to an unprecedented Quadruple this season and become the first team to defend the Premier League for a decade.

He arrived at the Etihad in 2016, winning the league title last season with a record 100 points and scoring 106 goals along the way.

The Spaniard has also picked up back-to-back Carabao Cups to add to the six league titles, four domestic cups and five international honours he won across his time as manager at Barcelona and then Bayern Munich.

Manchester City are under investigation from Uefa into alleged Financial Fair Play breaches.

And while Guardiola categorically denied his legacy would be tainted if City are charged, a move to  Juventus could prove to be an ideal escape route.

During his four full seasons at Juventus, Allegri has won four Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias, while also taking the Turin outfit to two Champions League finals.

However, reports suggest he has grown ‘tired and annoyed’ with his current situation so is considering a sabbatical away from the game to recharge his batteries.
