Breaking: Police, Amotekun, OPC begin search as gunmen abduct passengers in Osun


Osun State Police Command has deployed its men to rescue the travelers that were abducted by unknown gunmen between Omo/Erin-Ijesa road in Oriade Local Government of Osun state, Sunday evening. 


The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the abduction, said efforts are on to rescue the abductees. 


Though, Opalola could not confirm number of the abductees, she promised to brief the press officially on the matter, saying that safety of the abductees is paramount now.  


Also, the Corps Commandant of Amotekun, General Bashir Adewimbi (rtd), confirmed the abduction. 


He said the Corps have been deployed to rescue the victims, assuring that Amotekun will rescue them. 


The state Coordinator of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) Prince Deji Aladesawe, said the group has deployed its members to work with other security operatives to ensure the rescue of the abductees.
