[Breaking] Premier League: Mo Salah to the rescue as Liverpool snatch point vs Fulham

Liverpool were forced to come from behind twice versus Fulhan as they drew at Craven Cottage on the opening Saturday of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored twice, once with a header at the back post after climbing above Trent Alexander-Arnold, and once from the spot but it was not enough to give Marco Silva an unlikely first win of the season.
Liverpool at times struggled to cope with Fulham’s intensity but will be delighted at the resolute nature of their performance as they showed last season’s capabilities of coming from behind to gain points has not been extinguished over the short summer break.

Fulham tired as the game went on after pressing intensely early on and after Liverpool equalised for the first time through Nunez looked as though they might wilt under the Liverpool pressure.

As it was, they restored their lead through a Mitrovic penalty after he was brought down by Virgl van Dijk. The Serb’s penalty low to the left of Alisson gave the Brazilian little chance.
