Breaking: Prominent northern emir is dead

Jigawa state Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has expressed his regret and sadness over the demise of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi.

Governor Badaru stated this in a condolence message to the citizens of the state, signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, Malam Habibu Kila.

“I received with sadness and deep feeling of a great national loss, the news of the death of the Emir of Dutse Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi,” Badaru said.

He described the late Emir as a humble, religious and community leader whose conduct and character in life has been to the service of humanity.

According to the governor, the death of the Emir has created a vacuum that is difficult to be filled considering his contributions to the peace, stability and progress in his domain and the country in general.

“I pray for Allah in His infinite mercy to grant his soul Aljannah Firdausi”, the statement said.

The governor therefore called on the entire people of the Emirate and the state to bear the loss with the spirit of acquiescence to God’s will.

Alhaji Ahmed Malami Dutse, the Secretary of Dutse Emirate Council announced that the Emir died Tuesday evening in a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.

He said the Emir left two wives and 13 children and the burial rite will take place on Wednesday by 2pm at the Eidle praying ground, Dutse.
