Breaking: Reps pass Minimum wage bill for second reading

The new national minimum wage has received a boost, as it scaled second reading on the floor of the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The Bill which was introduced for first reading through a letter by President Muhammadu Buhari to Speaker Yakubu Dogara, who read same to members, was expeditely slated for second reading, with majority members however opting for N30,000.

Though Buhari proposed N27,000 as approved by the Council of State earlier in the week, the Bill’s expected third reading and subsequent next Tuesday is being awaited.
