Breaking: Senate puts off emergency sitting, approaches court over Onnoghen

The Senate has just put off its scheduled emergency sitting over the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The upper chamber in the National Assembly has also approached the Supreme Court for the interpretation of the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

This was made known in a statement released by the Senate Clerk, Nelson Ayewoh, on Monday.

Ayewoh noted that the scheduled date of resumption in plenary earlier fixed for Tuesday, February 19, 2019, remains.
