Former Senator representing Bauchi North Babayo Garba Gamawa who was the Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign Organization for Bauchi State in the last 2019 elections is dead.
Blueprint reports that Gamawa was one time speaker, majority leader of Bauchi State house of assembly and deputy governor to ex-governor Isah Yuguda.
Our correspondent also reports that before he joined the APC this year, he was the deputy National chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic party (PDP).
Confirming the death of the politician in a phone conversation, his media aide Isah Garba Gadau said Gamawa died Friday night around 8pm after a brief sickness.
“He was briefly sick and died this night at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi. Yesterday (Thursdaty) he had chat with people who came to greet him until 11pm, but he could not survive the ailment and died today (Friday),” he said.
