Breaking: Sorrow, Tears as Danbaba Suntai’s body arrives Abuja

The remains of the former governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, has arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from Florida, USA as part of arrangements for his interment in his residence in Suntai, Bali Local Government area.

 

The body landed at Airport at about few minutes after 5 am Friday morning.

 

He was welcome by his wife and other family members amidst sorrows and tears. Officials of the government of Taraba State and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were also on hand to commence the process for State burial ceremony arranged for him.

 

The former Taraba State governor died recently after a long battle for survival from injuries he sustained in a plane accident nearly five years ago.

 

Born on June 30, 1961 at Suntai village in Bali local government area of Taraba state, he attended Federal Government College, Kano between 1975 and 1980; School of Basic Studies [SBS] and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from where he graduated in 1984. A pharmacist by training, Suntai worked at the General Hospital, Ganye before joining politics in 1987.

 

He contested the chairmanship of Bali local government in the defunct Gongola State under the Social Democratic Party [SDP] and won.
