Barely four days after a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was abducted in Nasarawa state, another has been kidnapped by terrorists, this time along Kaduna -Birnin Gwari road, in Kaduna state.
The Divisional Police Officer was kidnapped by suspected bandits terrorising the area in the early hours of Monday when the criminal elements operated in the Birnin Gwari area.
The DPO, who was recently posted to the area, was reportedly on his way to Birnin Gwari to resume at his duty post when he was abducted.
Kaduna Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Mohammed Jalige, has yet to comment on the incident as at the time of going to press.
Blueprint reported on Monday that Ansaru group has taken over authority and control of Birnin Gwari, recruiting and indoctrinating youth in the area, while laying down rules among which is the ban on political activities.
