Up to five government officials (names witheld) in Ebonyi state have been infected with coronavirus disease names.
Sources closer to the state government disclosed this to Blueprint but refused to mention their names for security purposes.
They also revealed that some of them were affected alongside their spouses and relations.
Meanwhile, a statement released by Ebonyi state Commissioner for Information and state Orientation and acting commissioner, Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Barrister Uchenna Oji, at about 3.am this morning stated that the number of cases in the state has skyrocketed to 75 , saying that 26 of them have been completely treated and discharged.
Orji in the statement said governor David Umahi was terrified at the rate government officials contacted this disease, ordered immediate shutdown of offices for seven days.
