Tragedy struck this Friday morning when an unidentified man along-side his car got drowned in a flooded portion around Galadimawa round-about road in Abuja.
The flooding situation occasioned by the early morning rain got the entire road and the expansive and deep gully canal flooded, so much that the road had to be cordoned off by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
An eye witness account had it that the unlucky victim was in the vehicle with his driver when the incident occurred.
However, the driver of the vehicle was rescued, while the unlucky owner was still being searched for beneath the water.
As at the time of filing this report, Blueprint reporter spotted a combined team of men of the FCT Fire Service, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and their rescue ambulance, men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and local divers carrying out search and rescue operation with a canoe.
