Breaking: Tribunal makes crucial pronouncement, moves on with judgement on 2019 presidential poll

The tribunal is about to finally rule on 2019 presidential election outcome after it struck out the motion filled by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) which asked the the election petitions panel to declare null and void the petition of Atiku Abubakar and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after they failed to join Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in their suit.

Also, the presidential tribunal on Wednesday dismissed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) motion arguing that Atiku’s lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu, is not a legal practitioner called to the Nigerian Bar.

The tribunal held that INEC’s allegation is unfounded and that Uzoukwu was indeed called to the Nigerian Bar.

The tribunal also ruled that the lead counsel of the PDP was conferred senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 1992, and proceeded to strike out the motion as filed by INEC.
