Breaking: Ugwuanyi re-elected Enugu governor


Enugu state governor Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has won the 2019 governorship election. And so, the former House of Representatives member is now re-elected to spearhead political affairs in the coal city state.
He beat forty one other candidates at the polls..

He polled a total of 449,935 votes to beat his closest rival, Senator Ayogu Eze who polled 10,423 votes.

Prior to the polls, Ugwuanyi looked good to carry the day as 70 political parties, under the aegis of Coalition of Registered Political Party (CRPP), three days to the election, unanimously endorsed him and asked their party faithful to vote for him.

Thirty four governorship candidates also endorsed Gov. Ugwuanyi and collapsed their structures few weeks to the election.

Meanwhile, All Progressives Congress (APC) hierarchy has called for postponement of the election, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) compromised the result sheets which necessitated removal of their governorship candidate before the Saturday election.
