Breaking: Wike imposes curfew on Port Harcourt

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on parts of Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital for the next two weeks.

Wike revealed that the curfew which takes effect from Monday, Novenber 23, covers the entire area around the Okoro-Nu-Odu flyover in Rumuokoro.

The governor who spoke via state wide broadcast said he decision was due to fresh upsurge of cult activities and related violence.

He warned that his government would spare no efforts in dealing appropriately with anyone who disturbs peace and security in the state with cult activities and associated violence and killings.
