Breaking – WTO job: Nigeria’s Okonjo-Iwela crosses first hurdle

Nigeria’s former coordinating Minister of Economy Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been shortlisted alongside three others who are eligible to go into another stage of World Trade Organization (WTO) contest.

In the first stage, three candidates were dropped from the race to be the next Director General of WTO.

The contestants will be reduced to two final candidates between on September 24 and October 6, 2020.

The Geneva-based WTO said Mexico’s Jesus Seade, Egypt’s Hamid Mamdouh, and Moldova’s Tudor Ulianovschi didn’t secure enough support in a first of three rounds of voting.
