Brothers kill brother over handset in Niger

A 17 year-old student with one of the secondary schools in Minna, Niger state, Mahmud Adamu, has been murdered over allegations of stealing a handset by his brothers. Mahmud Adamu of Ungwar Kaje in Chanchaga local government area was allegedly beaten to death by his elder brother, Nura Adamu, 19 and a cousin, Hussaini Adamu, all of the same address over a missing handset last Thursday.
The deceased, it was learnt, was left in a pool of his own blood after severe beating by the duo. The brothers were said to have ran into hiding when they realised Mahmud was dead and are still at large. Residents were said to have rushed to the hospital where a consultant, Dr. Alfa Alhaji Sule, confirmed him dead after a postmortem and his body subsequently released for burial.
The state command Public Relation Officer, ASP Muhammad Abubakar DanInna, confirmed the incident, saying the suspects would be arrested in no time and charged to court. He said from the postmortem conducted, the deceased died as a result of complications from severe beating, vowing that the full wrath of the law would be brought to bear on the culprits.
