President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Sani Man Yahaya as the new Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun state.
The appointment of Dr Yahaya was contained in a letter signed by the Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, which was made available to newsmen in Bida on Thursday.
The appointment which took effect from November 21, 2022, is for a period of five years in line with the Federal Polytechnic (Amendment) Act 2019.
The letter reads, “I write to convey to you the approval of Mr President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for your appointment as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun state.
“The terms and conditions of service including remuneration and fringe benefits shall be as approved for Rectors of Federal Polytechnics”.
Until his appointment, the new rector was the Deputy Rector (Administration), Federal Polytechnic, Bida in Niger state.
President Buhari congratulated the new rector, and wished him a most successful tenure.
The new rector expressed gratitude to President Buhari for the appointment, saying he would do everything humanly possible to lift the standard of the polytechnic to greater heights.
