Buhari lauds Zamfara gov on security

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has applauded the current peace reconciliation process been evolved by Zamfara state Governor Bello Mattawallen Maradun by curbing banditry and restoring the relative peace in the state.

Bihari who was speaking at the combined maiden convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara state, Saturday, hailed  the government of Zamfara state’s effort towards attainment of peace.

The president who was represented by the former deputy governor of Kano state at the convocation ceremony, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, expressed readiness to end all forms of insurgency and banditry, corruption as well as to provide critical infrastructure across the nation by the federal government.

“Indeed, Governor Bello Mattawallen, had played a significant role which need to be commended in all ramifications, and we are going to remain resolute in supporting his government to attain constant peace in the state,” President Buhari contended.

He said, the federal government is determined to reinvigorated the education system to entrepreneurship scheme with a view to support the 36 states of the federation to address redundancy among youth graduates in the country.

“We are going to give much emphasis on the entrepreneurship scheme in all the federal institutions and support the 36 states with a view to engage youths who graduated into entrepreneurship businesses to become self reliant instead of waiting for the white collar job at the end of their study,” President Buhari stated.

In his speech, Governor Bello Mattawalle, commended the authorities of the university for living up to its mission of providing dynamic courses of study, especially for its matriculation programme.

“It is indeed worthy of note that Federal University, Gusau, has achieved the objective of its establishment, which is to become a true centre for excellence in education and research as well as greater community service,” he stated.

He urged the university authorities to pay more emphasis on instilling entrepreneurship and skills acquisition mechanisms.

“By so doing, I am confident that the university will surely operate beyond providing education for the sake of acquiring a certificate for white-collar jobs, but for providing knowledge which will empower our youth to become self-reliant and employers of labour”, he stated.

Governor Mattawalle further said  that, within the first 100 days his administration, he  paid the sum of N300 million, to NECO out of the backlog of N1.2 billion inherited.
