Buhari leads in Yobe as Bomai clinches South Senatorial ticket

The Senatorial candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed Bomai has been declared winner of Yobe south senatorial district after February 23 elections .

The race which was considered as most competitive in the state took place between the incumbent Senator Muhammed Hassan of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Bomai of APC.

The zonal returning officer Professor Henry Oware from Federal
University Gashua while announcing the result earlier on Monday in Potiskum, said:  “Ibrahim Muhammad Bomai emerged winner with 118,729 votes to unseat his opponent, Muhammad Hassan of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who pulled 89,049 votes in the election.”

Apart from the APC and PDP, the other parties that participated in the
elections were Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Better Nigeria Peoples
Party (BNPP) that got few votes.
