Buhari meets APC governors


President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday met behind close-doors with governors elected ob the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House in Abuja.


The governors were led by Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, who is the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.
Governors who attended the meeting declined to speak to State House correspondents on why it was conveyed.
But a source told Blueprint that the meeting deliberated on the crisis between national chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, and some governors, especially Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.


According to the source, the governors asked for presidential intervention with a view to finding solutions to the political misunderstanding between Obaseki and Oshiohmole ahead of the 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo state.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the governors were also unanimous that Oshiomhole should leave as chairman for the party to consolidate on its gains of the 2019 polls.


The president is expected to meet with the chairmen of the state chapters of the All Progressives Congress at 3pm Friday on the matter
