Buhari okays new appointments for CBN, others

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renewal of tenure of three chief executive officers, four new non-executive directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and two new others for some federal agencies.

The appointments were announced yesterday via a statement by the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The statement quoted the president as asking the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to national service, while carrying out their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public.

The appointments are as follows: Adeola Adetunji, Prof. Mike I. Obadan, Prof. Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko, Prof. Ummu Ahmed Jalingo as Non Executive Directors of the apex bank for a period of four years while Prof. Abdullahi Dasilva Yusuf was appointed Chief Medical Director, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and Dr. (Mrs) Pauline N. Ikwugbu as the Provost, Federal College Education, Eha Amufu in Enugu state. Their appointments are for a period of four years.

Those whose appointments were renewed include Dr. Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo as rector Federal Polytechnic, Unwana Afikpo, Ebonyi State for a four year period. Others are Arc. Olusegun Olarenwaju Aluko, rector, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in Ogun state and Engr. (Prof) Sunday Ohousi Onohaebi of the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi in Edo state all for a period of four years. The appointments are with immediate effect.
