Buhari orders NALDA to purchase five more spraying aircrafts

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) to procure five more additional aircrafts in order to effectively cover each geopolitical zone.

This is even as he said NALDA revitalisation is aimed at improving food security and creating jobs in line with the vision of his administration.

President Buhari stated this on Thursday while showcasing NALDA’s achievements in the last two years at the Eagle square.

President Buhari who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, said the equipment on display were part of the ones already procured by NALDA.

He reiterated that the government has procured various equipment for agricultural mechanization. The equipment include: Tractors, Combined Harvesters, Pumping machines, Surveillance and Spraying Drones, etc. “We will keep procuring land preparation equipment until we have enough,” he said.

The President said in terms of human capital, several professionals in different fields of agriculture have been trained and equipped to offer services in the needed areas.

And that many Nigerians, mostly youth and women, have been trained and empowered in the fields of mechanized agriculture, poultry farming, and fisheries.
