Buhari, Ortom need God’s wisdom

Wisdom is what leaders at all levels need to enable them lead their people and excel in their various given positions of leadership. For that reason, when God visited King Solomon of Israel and gave him an opportunity to ask for anything of his choice and that shall be given to him, King Solomon asked for wisdom because he believed that wisdom was the only thing that can make him excel and succeed in his reign.
However, leaders that don’t ask God for wisdom, quickly run out of ideas and blame others for failing to provide quality leadership duties that could keep unity, bring peace and maintain order for the sake of development of their places and building of their people. The ongoing killings of people in Benue state and other states of the federation by herdsmen, coupled with the inability of the state governor, Samuel Ortom, to end the killings, seconded by the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to halt the bloodbath, is worth condemning.
One will begin to question the effectiveness of the ongoing operation cat race in the areas where killings are still ongoing. It is a shame that Governor Ortom won’t get tired of blaming President Buhari for the killings in the state and it is even more shameful that President Buhari can blame the late President Ghadafi of Libya for the killings in Benue and beyond.
Then, if the leaders that have power and the authority to halt the ongoing killings have run out of ideas and resolved into blaming others for their failure, what should the ordinary and powerless citizens do for their safety?
Nevertheless, we will not stop lamenting, we will not stop writing, we will not stop condemning, we will not stop crying, we will not stop asking questions, we will not stop demanding for answers, we will not stop calling on the people to defend themselves, we will not stop protesting and we will not stop accusing our leaders for creating and paying lipservice to our ordeals.
Notwithstanding, 2019 is next year, Benue citizens and the rest must vote those they want as their leaders. Nonetheless, Professor David Ker, Hon. John Tondo and other governorship aspirants in Benue state should start thinking of what they can do to address the sufferings of the people in the state after the coming elections because any of them can win.
