Buhari: Rampant killings in North an agenda to break-up

Former Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has said that the rampant killing of innocent people in the North is an agenda to break up the country.

He said the killings are not for religious or tribal differences, but rather an attempt to destroy the country through terrorist acts.
Buhari, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed this yesterday shortly after paying a condolence visit to the people of Faskari and Sabuwa local governments where over 100 people were killed recently by unknown gunmen.
According to him, “The agenda to destabilise the country is real and the plan was to destroy the North in totality”.

He said the planners have successfully started killing people from Borno and Yobe down to Kano, Kaduna and now Katsina states, saying it was quit unfortunate.
Buhari said even though the security agencies have begun to understand the plan, but unfortunately the situation is being approached with arrogantly.
He said, “I have been hearing through the media that government is making an effort to understand the real situation but in baseless direction”.

Buhari said what actually happen recently in Kafanchan were hunters threatened to death simply because they are Fulani is a clear indication that the country is moving in aberrant direction.
Buhari called on people to unite and fight back the terrorism act in the region.
He said: “Unless Northerners wake up from slumber the issue of terrorism will continue to destroy the region since it is a planned effort”.
During the visit he donated 200 bags of maize to the communities while his associates donated N2 million to the relatives of the victims.

His entourage included the former speaker, Hon Aminu Bello Masari, Senator Abu Ibrahim, Hon Suleiman Hunkui, Hon Sani Sha’aban, Hon Abbas Machika and the entire APC state officials.
