President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, returned to the country after spending 14 days in the United Kingdom, treating what the Presidency referred to as “persistent ear infection.”
Buhari, whose aircraft landed at the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:33pm, said he’s now fit to work.

“I’m okay. You have seen me inspecting the guards of honour. You saw me when I was going and you saw me when I came back, you can assess the situation yourself,” he said.
When asked how he was feeling, the President said: “Do you want to wrestle me? You can see I am taller than you.”
The President was received at the airport by some governors, the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, ministers, Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and other top presidential aides.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, told reporters at the airport that the President was in London based on the advice of his personal physician and a specialist on ear, nose and throat.
Adesina said the President is fit and would resume work today (Monday).
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, who was also at the airport to receive the President, thanked God that the President went and came back in sound health.

Similarly, his Zamfara State counterpart. AbdulAziz Abubakar Yari, said it’s “a good thing the President went on break and returned to meet his people hale and hearty.”
The President, on June 6, commenced a 10-day vacation to the United Kingdom to see an ENT specialist for a persistent ear infection.
Last Thursday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo told State House correspondents that President Buhari would return on Sunday because he wanted to take the weekend off.
The London trip was the President’s second vacation since assuming office on May 29, 2015. His first vacation was from February 5 to 10 this year.
