Buhari set to commission Lagos-Ibadan gauge rail project

All is set for the commissioning of the much awaited Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line project by President Muhammadu Buhari in Lagos.

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Wednesday toured the project to see the finishing touches being put to the various stations and other facilities.

The president is also expected to commission the Lekki Deep Blue project being supervised by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The minister was accompanied by officials of the ministry including Permanent Secretary,Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation Fidet Okhiria.

Amaechi kick-started the inspection at the Ebute-Metta-Apapa main complex where work has been completed before proceeding to the other stations and was joined at the Professor Wole Soyinka Station in Abeokuta by the Ogun state governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun.
