Second Republic Governor of Kaduna State, under the defunct People’s Redemption Party (PRP), has described President Muhammad Buhari’ s government as weak, slow and deceitful.
Alhaji Balarabe Musa who is an ardent critic of the Buhari-led administration, noted in an interview with Blueprint in Kaduna that this “government made three fundamental mistakes right from its beginning which is making it impossible to now unless put its act together and run a purposeful and strong administration”.

“General Muhammadu Buhari who first contested for the presidency in 2003 and continue to do so up to 2015 when he emerged successful in that election defeating the then incumbent President Jonathan who though as a person is moderate Nigerian but surrounded by people who are always on the corridors of power looting government treasury, took the following steps wrongly, and uptil now his government is paying for it by operating on different pages with the National Assembly, the party that produce the presidency and the judiciary”.

“When Buhari emerged victorious as president from the 2015 general elections, as somebody who was active in politics since 2003 or slightly before that when we expectd that he has his template on how to govern the country and the people that will assist him run a successful government in mind, when APC finished its presidential primaries the National Chairman of the party presented a working document to the president that contest what his government will do for Nigerians, but Buhari formed his cabinet without opening a page from that document”.

He said “as the head of the executive arm of government, it was only Buhari that will nominate those that will work with him without asking state chapters of this party to produce those that made their victory possible for appointment that was number one mistake. Two, he made it clear that whoever emerged as a national officer in our National Assembly either as Senate President or Speaker of the House of Representatives, was not his business.  Three, since he became president, he distanced himself from the party that brought him into power, today, APC is operating like a clueless party that has no direction”.

“With such structure in place, I mean when the Senate President and Speaker, House of Representatives, the judiciary which also recently suffered humiliation from the president’s anti –graft agency, the party itself which brought the president in office are not operating on the same page you now have a government that is uncoordinated, that has lack direction and with all branches of it trying to pull the other branch down”.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will go into history as the president that did not spent a dime to emerge successful in an election which was largely funded by the masses, friends, and even some members of the International Community but today, you will discover that the president in council will send a nominee to the senate for confirmation and another agency under the presidency will write to the same senate to discredit the nominee and the president will not say anything under this arrangement, who is fooling who?”
Similarly, the National Leader of the PRP advise the Buhari Administration to assert its full authorities over decisions of its executives and weed out those who have no business being in the government”.

“The Buhari Administration if not for anything, even for the simple fact that Nigerian masses still believe very much in the government should take some decisive steps to purge the Executive of those who have no  business being in the government in the first place”.
