Bulls on rampage as equity market grows by N74bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE yesterday sustained growth profile as the market capitalisation appreciated by N74 billion. Specifically, the value of listed equities grew by 0.56% to N13.302 trillion from N13.228 trillion.
Investor traded a turnover of 577.251 million shares valued at N12.264 billion in 4954 deals against 292.137 million shares worth N3.982 billion exchanged by investors in 4813 deals.

Total Nigeria led gainers table, advancing by N2.01 kobo to close at N162.00. UAC of Nigeria followed with a gain of N2.00 to close at N65.00 while Seplat Petroleum Development Company, Ashaka Cement and Nigerian Breweries enhanced by N1.00, N1.00 and N0.97 kobo respectively to close at N635.00, N21.40 kobo and N174.00.
Mobil Nigeria topped losers chart, shedding N1.10 kobo to close at N127.90 kobo. Dangote Cement trailed with a loss of N0.89 kobo to close at N227.01, while International Breweries depreciated by N0.39 kobo to close at N25.61 kobo.
Other stocks that recorded price reduction were Vitafoam and Trans Express which loss N0.11 kobo each to close at N4.01 kobo and N2.20 kobo respectively.

Banking sub sector recorded the highesst volume of activities in the financial service sector, recording 336.231 million shares valued at N7.541 billion in 1484 deals.  Zenith International Bank was the most active stock in banking sub sector, exchanging 255.635 million shares worth N6.106 billion in 287 deals. FBN Holdings followed with account of 102.294 million share valued at N1.482 billion in 326 deals, while GTBank sold 38.318 million shares cost N1.074 billion in 227 deals. Custodian and Allied Insurance traded 24.728 million shares valued at N79.227 million in 106 deals and UBA Capital exchanged 19.125 million shares worth N47.732 million in 152 deals.
