Bulls return as equity market gains N355bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday returned to bullish run, with market capitalisation increasing by N355 billion.

Market Capitalisation of listed equities appreciated by 1.75 per cent to N20.651 trillion from N20.296 trillion reported the previous day.

The NSE All Share Index also appreciated by 679.72 basis points to 39461.20 points Dr m 38781.48 points reported the previous day.

Investors traded 270.694 million shares valued at N2.044 billion in 3901 deals against 259.517 million shares cost N1.915 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 3548 deals.

A review of the transaction showed that Fidson Healthcare led gainers table during the day, gaining 10 per cent to close at N5.28 kobo, Julius Berger followed with a gain of 10 per cent to N20.90 kobo, Ekocorp added 9.26 per cent to N5.90 kobo, Chi Plc gained 9.09 per cent to close at N0.36 kobo, Royal Express added 8.89 per cent to N0.49 kobo.

On the contrary, Regal Insurance topped losers chart, dropping by 10 per cent to close at N0.30 kobo, CWG trailed with a loss of 9.84 per cent to N2.29 kobo, Mutual Benefits fell by 7.50 per cent to N0.37 kobo, FBNHoldings dipped by 6.76 per cent to N6.90 kobo while Wapic Insurance down by 3.85 per cent to N0.50 kobo.
