Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has Thursday distributed 100 vehicles, sewing, grinding and vulcanising machines and cash to empower women, vulnerable persons and members of the business community in Yobe state.
The vehicles were given on loan to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers
The state government also provided cash support to mothers of 400 orphans, 250 Tsangaya Ulamas and small and medium-scale businessmen.
Governor Buni said the programme was aimed at facilitating the recovery programme of the state government and economic empowerment of the people.
The governor charged the beneficiaries to use the support judiciously to improve their economy.
He assured more support to the people to have sustainable means of livelihood.
