Buni to meet APC leaders, Badaru in Jigawa


The acting chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Jigawa state chapter,
Maimala Buni, will meet the party stakeholders and Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to resolve the crisis in the party.

This was made known in a statement by Auwal Sankara, the Special Assistant new Media to Governor.

Badaru confirmed that the APC stalwarts will be in Jigawa on Thursday for the meeting.

The statement further explained that Buni, alongside other governors will be in Dutse Jigawa state capital to commission road projects.

The embattled chairman, Habibu Sara, was suspended following a party’s caucus meeting and presided by Governor Muhammad Badaru.

The state’s party secretary, Muhammad Umar, was appointed as caretaker committee chairman to oversee the affairs of the party pending further directive.

Sara, in a press conference in Dutse, said based on the party’s constitution, he is the only person mandated to convene the executive meeting of the party and not the Governor.

He said the caretaker committee chairman appointed by the governor cannot replace him under whatsoever guise.

It has also been rumoured that the national office of the party has ordered for the reinstatement of the embattled chairman following the allege illegal suspension.
